I am 24 years old and I had gastric bypass surgery on 02/12/2007. At the time I went into surgery I weighed 241.5lbs and I was a size 20 in most womens clothes. I had been obese for several years. It was heart breaking for me to not be able to shop were everyone else shopped and wear the brands everyone else my age was wearing. Since the surgery just 14 months ago I have lost 116.5lbs and I weigh 125lbs today. I have a confidence that allows me to do anything. I love shopping and I can find clothes anywhere now that I am wearing a size 2 in pants. I love going places and meeting new people. I never realized until now just how insecure I was prior to the surgery. It has made such a positive impact in so many aspects of my life. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

I have lost over 190 lbs. There is no way I can express in words how my life has changed. I have battled obesity my entire life and have never known any other life than that of a morbidly obese person. This surgery changed my life much more than just a physical change. I have been given a new life! I have been able to experience so many new things. Even the most trivial of experiences I no longer take for granted. Like being able to sit next to my wife in the movie theatre withouth leaving an empty seat between us. Thank you Bluegrass Bariatrics!
